Work Load Limit is the maximum load and is accurate when the product is new, the load is uniformly applied, in a straight pull in usual conditions. Misuse, time, weather, temperature, chemicals, salt water and custom modifications will all affect the working load limit.

Breaking Strength may be published in places on this website but is not to be used for design purposes. For design and rating purposes you must use the working load limit with its precautions. Breaking strength is a mathematical average figure from random sample on a test bed under laboratory conditions.

Components such as hooks, shackles, links or other hardware must be of suitable material, properly installed and have a working load limit at least equal to the wire rope, chain and other components.
